Golden Tulip West Africa ('GTWA') operates and manages hotels in West Africa in the Five, Four and Three Star business class hotel segments, under the "Royal Tulip", "Golden Tulip", and "Tulip Inn" brands. The company is equally owned by Lionstone Group and Starwood Capital Group, combining the relative strengths of both shareholders, who bring years of global hotel industry expertise and regional business development know how and experience.
GTWA defines West Africa in this instance as all the coastal countries along the West African coast from Senegal down to Angola. We believe that due to the significant increases in international, and intra-regional travel in this region, coupled with a lack of supply of world class business hotels, GTWA through its brands and offerings fills a much needed gap in the hospitality sector in the Region. Golden Tulip West Africa currently has over 900 rooms under management, in Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone; with a contracted pipeline of an additional 550 rooms under contract and in development, making it the largest single hotel operator in the Region. Our hotels are synonymous with quality service, elegant surroundings, and are typically the flagship hotels in the cities that they are present in. Golden Tulip hotels in the Region are associated with a sophisticated and discerning clientele.
